SQL, as you probably know, stands for Structured Query Language and is used to query traditional relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server. ![]() KQL sounds like it's related to SQL – is it? If you're wondering where the name comes from, it's named after Jacques Cousteau – a French undersea explorer – and you’ll see some cheeky references to Jacques in the Kusto documentation. Kusto was the original codename for the Azure Application Insights platform that Azure Monitor is now based on. You won't be using Kusto databases for your ERP or CRM, but they’re perfect for massive amounts of streamed data like application logs. It’s the language used to query the Azure log databases: Azure Monitor Logs, Azure Monitor Application Insights and others. Ready? Let's go! First things first – what is Kusto and what is KQL? Whatever your reason, set aside the next 10 minutes and we'll get you up to speed with KQL. But then I noticed I had not handled the output of JHOVE correctly.) I also tried the same with JHOVE (Open source file format identification, validation ![]() I'm by no means an "Optimus collector", but I do buy most Optimus figures that have an interesting design. And Sawback's shield looks surprisingly good on him, with the sword. The translucent sword does look impressive in his hand. They try to emulate G1 Optimus' classic antennae but just look too detached from the head.Īrticulation is your voyager class standard. I don't particularly like the pop out antennae though. The head sculpt is very G1-ish and is possibly the most G1 head we've gotten in a very long time. For a triple changer that puts a lot of kibble on the back, he manages to keep the backpack quite compact. So basically he's an amalgamation of various generations of Optimus'. And the shoulder pads evoke Fire Convoy's design. Although he's mostly a Laser Op homage, the colors and the golden highlights also remind me of G1 Prime and Star Convoy. It's a sharp looking robot mode with heroic proportions and Prime-esque color palette. Other than that there's nothing special to him. This name Diac is an homage to Diaclone and the little dude has a painted silver head that looks the same as those Micro Change figures. They are attached via a multi-axis joint which is quite tricky to get right the first couple of times for different modes. Overall it's quite simple and intuitive, except for the wings. The gun can now be plugged on top of the canopy. The TM sits in the same canopy but now is facing backwards. ![]() ![]() I particularly like the nose section and the air intakes. It would've been nice if the cab pieces are better integrated but hey it's a Voyager figure trying to be a triple changer AND accommodate the headmaster gimmick. The nose halves sit under the wings looking like jet engines. Yes the back half basically has two truck cab halves just hanging off the side. Many people criticize that the jet mode is a bit of a mess. Also the two halves of the cab windows don't stay tabbed together all that well. I suppose shaving one of the tabs off will easily fix this, but it's still something to look out for. As a result the wings can't sit properly at the same time (it's not a mid-assembly as the wings are mirrored and have L and R respectively). But somehow they are in the exact same spot, just mirrored. The wings sandwiched inside the tank have tabs on either side that I presume are meant to be offset to each other so they tab together. It doesn't bother me but do be careful if you want perfect stickers on your Transformer. And stickers peeling seems to be a common problem for both Optimus and Megatron in this wave. The blue stripe stickers on the side are shinny and nice, but the edge towards the end of trailer is already starting peel up, as for transformation this section needs to be moved back and forth. The translucent yellow canopy cover has molded fuel cap details similar to Laser Optimus' fuel tank. The weapons can be pegged on the sides but as long as you have a sword accessory it'll always look silly. Most of the paint budget on this figure must have been spent on the silver on the tank. The side windows and the smoke stacks are all left unpainted. The cab desperately needs some paint though. There are a lot of visual elements and molded details to keep the truck on from looking bland, and I particularly like the grille bits on the side of the tank trailer. The big blocks of Optimus/star spangled flag colors look good. But personally I find he's a good stand alone figure.Īrguably the better of the two alt modes. Optimus seems to get even less love than his pre-tool wave mate Megatron, who to me looks even more obvious that he was designed as someone else first. ![]() “I’m really happy and my girlfriends will be so happy too.” “That’s fantastic,” Prezzano said in a telephone interview. She’s always sung it as “sons and daughters,” as have many of her longtime female friends from college days. Prezzano, who penned that letter to the editor so long ago suggesting a wording change, was thrilled to hear the news. (Casasanta went on to compose the alma mater, “Notre Dame, Our Mother,” and several other ND football songs including “Hike, Notre Dame.”) The Shea brothers credited much of the success of the march to 1923 graduate Joseph Casasanta, University band director from 1923 to 1942, who in 1928 arranged the tune as it is known today. At the time, the wording was slightly different and lacked the “wake up the echoes” line: A June 1921 edition of Scholastic Magazine mentioned the song in a news article related to Notre Dame’s drive to establish a $2 million endowment. The lyrics have changed some over the years. Singing the fight song soon became a traditional part of Notre Dame athletic events, especially at baseball and football games. Already there is a large demand for copies among students and among outsiders who have heard the march,” the Tribune reported. “The song will be published before Christmas by a Chicago music house. “The song made a decided hit in the hall and at dinner, where it was also given,” the newspaper reported. It was sung by the Notre Dame Glee Club, accompanied by the University orchestra. “New Notre Dame Song Making Hit, Shea Production Sung First Time at President’s Exercises,” a South Bend Tribune headline announced the next day. The “Notre Dame Victory March” made its campus debut on Decemduring an event in Washington Hall to honor University President Rev. ( The others are ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ ‘God Bless America’ and ‘White Christmas.’)”Īccording to campus lore, the song’s public debut occurred in 1908 when Michael played it on the organ of the Second Congregational Church in the Shea brothers’ hometown of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Shea (Class of 1906 and ’08).Īuthor Murray Sperber, in his book, Shake Down the Thunder: The Creation of Notre Dame Football, called the Victory March “one of the nation’s four best known songs. Shea (Class of 1904 and ’05) and his brother, John F. The famous fight song was written by Rev. Alumni on campus for the reunion joined in singing the revised song during a dinner gathering. The first public performance of the newly arranged song happened June 2 as part of a daylong celebration to mark this year’s 50th anniversary of coeducation. More than a century after its debut, the “Notre Dame Victory March” has been fine-tuned to accurately reflect the demographics of the contemporary student body. The University officially changed the last line to: The second verse, which is in the public domain, previously read: In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the enrollment of women undergraduates, Notre Dame on Thursday June 2 announced a slight - but significant - change to the famous fight song in order to honor both the “sons and daughters” of the University. ![]() Nearly 46 years later, Prezzano’s wish has been realized. “So, can’t you please join with us and help to improve our fight song? Granted, it’s the football players who are ‘marching on to victory’ but shall we make up a different song for women’s varsity and intramural sports? Is it too much to rewrite a simple but very traditional fight song and admit that women are here to stay, or would this be the straw that broke the alumnus’ back?” -Maryann Moorman “Isn’t it about time that they noticed that we’re not all ‘sons,’ and change the words? For two years now, I’ve sung our fight song, at the top of my lungs on many occasions, ending it with as ‘our loyal sons and daughters march on to victory.’ (Hammerstein could have done better!),” she wrote in the letter published September 28, 1976. She penned a letter to the editor of The Observer, the campus newspaper. This was in the early years of Notre Dame coeducation. She appreciated the sentiment, but it got her thinking. Maryann Moorman Prezzano ’78 was a Notre Dame junior living in Breen-Phillips Hall in 1976 when some male undergraduates gathered outside to serenade the B-P women with a vocal rendition of the “Notre Dame Victory March.” The tune remains the same, but the “Victory March” now recognizes Notre Dame’s sons and daughters. ![]() Belkin hereby grants you the right to use: (i) where your Product is not a “Small-Medium Business or SMB” branded Product, for your personal, non-commercial purposes or (ii) where your Product is a “Small Medium Business or SMB Product, for your personal or commercial use copies of the Software in object code form on devices that you own (or, in the case of firmware, one copy of the firmware in object code form solely on the Product relating to the firmware). “You” may also mean a person who has downloaded the Software from an authorized website, such as or from an authorized application market or store, such as Apple’s App Store or Google Play (each such application market or store is referred to in this Agreement as an “App Store” and collectively as “App Stores”).ġ. It was frequently a last resort, a diagnosis based on medically unexplained symptoms, arrived at only after ruling out everything else. Often, in its many guises, it mimicked better known conditions. It wasn’t a “rule in” diagnosis, something that test results might reliably point to. Until very recently, FND remained largely mysterious. Nor are these patients necessarily physically ill, though functional neurological symptoms may be observed in patients with strokes, epilepsy or Parkinson’s disease. But patients with FND aren’t, by conventional standards, necessarily mentally ill, although many also suffer from anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder. Yet the doctors found no clear reason for what he was experiencing. His primary care physician sent him to the local hospital, and he was admitted with a racing heart and monitored for cardiac arrhythmia. He had injured his ankle at a worksite, he suffered periodic migraines and some people described him as anxious-“I hate that word,” McLaughlin says-but generally he was fine. He had never before had any physical or mental health problems that seemed serious. When parents of other kids approached, McLaughlin could hear them but was unable to respond.Īt the time, McLaughlin’s job was doing road maintenance in southern New Hampshire. At the skating rink, the attacks of paralysis continued and became more intense.
